I'm a culture strategist, facilitator, speaker, and architect. I didn't come to this work through HR. I came through leading innovation and transformation at iconic brands that shape culture at large — and that lens is unique in this space. It turns out I wasn't building a career — I was following a calling. That's why I launched Grow There. Today I work with organizations across North America who understand that when you grow your people, everything else grows. And growth isn't just feel-good work. It's strategy.
How it all started.
I was born in the early 80s when the idea of "corporate culture" had only begun to take root. I started my journey in the 90s at the ripe age of 16 when a new high school administrator walked into my leadership class and said, "My name is Richard Parkhouse, and I'm on a mission to build the world's greatest high school." That day, two things happened: he taught me my first lesson in culture transformation, and I stepped right into my calling.
One year later, our school culture looked completely different — and I was on the road with Parkhouse at conferences, teaching rooms full of students, teachers, and administrators hungry for their own transformation. I carried Parkhouse's teachings into college years and every job I had before culture was even in my title.
People said I had a gift for it. I'd correct them every time: it's not a gift. It's a hard-won, learnable, teachable skill. That skill, paired with a deep desire to help people grow, has never changed. The rooms just look different now.
